Finding the required lego sets that contribute to the theme of a movie is not a difficult task, the lego industry having provided much selection, and cameras to record the movie need not be expensive for great quality when simplicity is preferred.

Sets

Sets of many genres exist in lego. The adventure genre, consisting mostly of jungle and wilderness sets, provides much foliage and rocky structure as decor. Such sets often come with unique characters of exploration, vehicles for rocky terrain, air planes, machines, ancient architecture, and lost treasure. The lego city series can be used for many diffrent genres, including those of action, horror, and humor. It offers sets with tall buildings, police headquarters and police vehicles, fire stations and fire engines, hospitals and ambulances, large trucks, motorcycles, boats, construction equipment, and space stations. Space and underwater sets can be used for science fiction movies. They offer flying crafts, submarines, scuba gear, strange vehicles, lazers, decor from foreign worlds, and unusual beings. All lego comes with instructions on how to build the sets, and these instructions may also be found online. The filmmakers might not wish to follow the instructions and choose to create a unique set made of a mixture of all these genres. Some sets may prove difficult to work with, but all can be used for lego stop motion filmmaking. Filmmakers do not even have to strictly use just lego when anything can be used for sets, backdrops, scenery, decor, and props.

Cameras

There are large cameras for proffesional stop motion filmmaking, which provide high quality pictures and do not offer many issues. Few, if any, low budget stop motion lego filmmakers can afford such devices, but simple digital cameras and web cameras can be used instead. Digital cameras can take good pictures, but the ability to clearly focus on lego is important, and not all digitial cameras can do this. The lego might be too small for the camera to detect up close, and the picture might appear blurry. Some brands of small web cameras can be used in such cases. However, many web cameras do not offer the same quality as digital cameras and might not detect lego from the distance.

Lego sets are ideal for home stop motion movies, offering much genre selection, and all of which are compatible with specific digital cameras and web cameras.
